Cultural Paper, Cultural Presentation & Opinion Paper - Professional Interaction

The artifacts I chose to exhibit behaviors and conduct that reflect respect and sensitivity according to physical therapy practice standards is my cultural paper, cultural presentation and my opinion paper on professional interactions. With my cultural paper I was able to explore what cultural competencies. What it was, how it works in the health field and then reflecting on my own family, culture and thoughts. With cultural presentation I was placed in a group with other students and given a culture we got Islamic. We researched and did an overview on the culture, barriers that affect their health, common health issues along with their views on healthcare. This was only one culture however is shows growth with understanding cultural differences and why it is so important to ask the right questions. This will insure that the patient is always respected, comfortable and are getting the best treatment possible. I also added my opinion paper on professional interaction. In this paper I was able to pick out an ethical problem I experienced while out on clinicals. Reflecting on my experience allowed me to become more aware of problems that may be easily overlooked. I looked into how to best handle a situation, brainstorming how to approach the right person about it along with ideas to solve the problem.
